Assessment of the architectural accessibility of cultural facilities in the Paczków municipality, Opole Voivodeship, Poland, as a case study

The article discusses research on the statistical distribution of cultural facilities in the Opole Voivodeship, with Paczków municipality serving as a representative example. The identified research gap is the lack of a database of cultural facilities in Opole Voivodeship that enables studies aimed at defining architectural accessibility barriers. The quantitative research aim was to develop a cultural facilities catalogue, considering possible object types, and to use the database further to examine architectural accessibility in a representative municipality. The post-occupancy evaluation (POE) results, based on a prepared checklist, indicate priority research issues and potential directions for further design activity. The research novelty lies in developing a comprehensive catalogue, identifying a representative municipality for in-situ research, and establishing an original assessment checklist. The study addresses the identified research gap, considers the cultural aspect, provides an assessment matrix as a tool for future studies, and identifies further research directions based on in-situ findings.
