Abstract
The article presents the ICON A5 aircraft, which is a combination of boat, airplane and car. The genesis of the project, its research and development of the design, as well as selected aspects of series production are described. There are presented as well significant innovations (including wing cuffs and a rescue parachute system) that make the ICON A5 aircraft both safe and economical to operate.
