The flying model method in research on new aircraft designs

This article presents the flying model method used for testing new aircraft designs. The essence of research using prototype models of aircraft, helicopters and other aircraft is discussed. Attention is paid to the measurement and research equipment installed in flying models. Examples of models used for testing are presented. The summary highlights the benefits of the flying model method as well as its limitations.
