Klimat miejski i jego wpływ na komfort termiczny mieszkańców są istotnymi aspektami w planowaniu urbanistycznym i projektowaniu osiedli mieszkaniowych. Celem tego artykułu jest zbadanie postrzegania temperatury przez mieszkańców nowoczesnego obszaru mieszkalnego w Lublinie podczas najgorętszego dnia, przy wykorzystaniu zaawansowanego narzędzia symulacji komputerowej – programu ENVI-met. Jako studium przypadku wybrano nowoczesne, gęsto zabudowane osiedle mieszkaniowe bez znaczącej zieleni. Ogólne dane meteorologiczne i przestrzenne zostały wykorzystane do skalibrowania modelu osiedla mieszkaniowego w oprogramowaniu. Model osiedla mieszkaniowego w programie został skalibrowany przy użyciu publicznie dostępnych danych meteorologicznych i przestrzennych, a symulacje komputerowe zostały przeprowadzone dla najgorętszego dnia w Lublinie, 22 lipca 2022 roku. Na podstawie tych symulacji obliczono Uniwersalny Indeks Klimatu Termicznego (UIKT). Wyniki badań wskazują, że ludzie doświadczają umiarkowanego stresu termicznego w miejscach niezacienionych tylko o godzinie 16:00, podczas gdy w słonecznych lokalizacjach doświadczają silnego do bardzo silnego stresu cieplnego przez cały dzień. Artykuł podkreśla znaczenie symulacji komputerowych w analizie mikroklimatu miejskiego i dostarcza wglądu w narzędzia, które mogą być wykorzystane w procesach planowania urbanistycznego i projektowania osiedli mieszkaniowych, mając na celu stworzenie bardziej komfortowego i przyjaznego dla środowiska otoczenia miejskiego.
