Abstract

The article considers philosophical and sociological premises referring to the relationship of people within their technical and natural environment, enclosed in a paradigm of responsibility. “Responsibility”, in this context, bears in mind the concept of sustainable development, which is valued by experts from different fields as the only concept that provides the possibility of humans’ survival on the Earth while ensuring a good way of life for both present and future generations. This article also points out the need for society to encompass sustainable development thinking in order for it to be successfully realized. This purpose is served inter alia by the newest informative medium – the Internet. Internet advertisements (such as banners, pop-ups, pop-unders, sky-scrapers, and interstitials) may help to spread knowledge about the concept of sustainable development and inspire the individual occupants of the planet to take some responsibility for the present and future.
