Cooperation with 'Applied Computer Science' journal

The published paper must address problems of computer applications in production engineering, economy and management, technology or biomedical engineering.

The journal publishes only the original papers, which have not been published elsewhere and are not under consideration by another journal. The manuscripts submitted by any other person than one of the authors will not be accepted. The submitting author makes a statement that the article’s publication has been approved by all other co-authors.

The author receives an acknowledgment of the submission which officially establishes the date of receipt. The Editor Board informs the authors about the progress of assessment and publication processes. The publisher will do everything possible to ensure prompt publication. The Editorial Office reserves the right to abridge and adjust the manuscripts.

Authorship of the paper should be limited ONLY to those who have contributed substantially to the work.  Guest authorship and ghostwriting is unacceptable and will be retraced should any detected cases be exposed, with the academics being reported to their institutions. The content of the article is the ultimate responsibility of the contributor. Accordingly, the Publisher and the Editorial Board accept no liability whatsoever for the consequences of any inaccurate or misleading data, opinion or statement. Unfinished submissions will be deleted after 30 days without activity.

Assessment process

All submitted papers are subject to peer review and are expected to meet standards of academic excellence.

Manuscript are accepted for publication by:

  • the Topic Editor,
  • two independent reviewers from outside the institution of the author/authors, appointed by the Scientific Board,
  • the Language Editor.

All submitted papers firstly are sent to the proper Topic Editor (according to the author’s indication of the paper’s scientific area) who decides if the manuscript is relevant to the subject of Applied Computer Science. Negative decision of the Topic Editor is tantamount to rejection of the manuscript and ends the assessment procedure.

Reviewers are selected in accordance with the principle of avoiding conflict of interests (examples of conflicts of interest include a personal relationship between reviewer and author, occupational subordination, direct scientific cooperation). The review is provided and concludes with an explicit recommendation to accept or reject the paper for publication. The names of the reviewers for the individual publications are not revealed and are anonymous to the authors. If a negative review is given, the submission is rejected.

The reviewer can discuss the manuscript with the Statistical Editor or/and Language Editor.

On receiving the required number of reviews, the Editors pass them immediately to authors. The Editors require that authors prepare answers to reviewers’ comments, which are then sent to referees.

When the answers to reviewers’ comments are accepted by reviewers, the Editorial Board makes a decision of publishing the manuscript. Decision with the expected date of publication is sent to the submitting author.

Organization of the article

The article must fulfil all the conditions included in the checklist above.

The paper should be prepared using journal paper template (download: pdf, dotxdocx) – please use styles included in the template.

The corrected article should be sent back to the editorial office within 7 days of its receipt. The publisher makes every effort to ensure prompt publication. Therefore, it is important that the article is prepared strictly according to the requirements of the journal.

All the submitted papers are checked in the anti-plagiarism program Crossref Similiarity Check (iThenticate) before sending to reviewers. The overall similarity (Similarity Index) may not exceed the limit of 30%, and the single paper similarity may not exceed the limit 10%. Otherwise, the paper will be rejected by the editor.

Each article is a subject of the single-blind peer review. The works received after a positive assessment of the editorial office are sent to two reviewers, whose identity remains unknown for the author. Detailed information about reviewing process are available here.

The review form is available here.

COPE standards

The editorial team, publisher, authors and reviewers are obliged to follow the Ethical principles. In case of suspicion of violation of ethical and/or publishing rules, the situation will be clarified in accordance with COPE procedures (COPE flowcharts).

The authors certify that there is no conflict of interest with any financial organization regarding the material discussed in the manuscript.
