Abstract

Energy consumption of air conditioning on board in the electric city bus significantly reduces the scope of the vehicle and the traction deteriorates dynamic characteristics. The use of thermal energy storage on the need to maintain thermal comfort in the passenger compartment is an attractive alternative to air-conditioning systems powered by chemical cells. In order to effectively charge the thermal energy storage cooling system to be applied by an appropriate refrigerant. The choice of refrigerant directly affects the efficiency, reliability and safety of the air conditioning. The article was presented the process of multi-criteria selection of refrigerant with particular attention to the applicable legal regulations. For an agent that exhibits the greatest prospects of use for a series of simulations it was carried out based on the commercial software environment. This study has been complemented by a review of selected refrigerant.
