Abstract
The paper presents economic dimension of outcomes of research on ecological awareness in Poland in conditions of World financial crisis 2008-2009. The social perception of the idea and principles of sustainable development as well as social perception of shapping of the relation economy-environment were discussed. Characteristic factors influencing social behaviour in relation to the environment was shown. Also the problem of dynamism of consumer choices changes was presented.
