Abstract

The open-air museum is a place where objects of folk culture of a particular region are presented. In 2012, the Lublin Village Museum, in consultation with the Conservation Department of the Faculty of Construction and Architecture at the Lublin University of Technology, started a programme of comprehensive inventory and assessment of the technical condition of the objects. Based on the extensive and comprehensive archival documentation, it was decided to carry out an analysis allowing to compare changes in the buildings' condition. This article focuses on the assessment of the building facades’ technical condition. The assessment was based on determination of the technical condition of the walls and roof coverings and a comparison of the degree and extent of damage in relation to documentation submitted 10 years ago. No significant structural problems were found and the damages are, in most cases, superficial.
