As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The article has not been published elsewhere and is not currently under consideration by another journal.
  • The article is written in English language.
  • The article file must be prepared using the journal template.
  • The article file should not extend 5 MB.
  • The article includes: title, authors’ data, abstract, keywords, main text, bibliography.
  • The authors’ data placed on the first page of the article include: full names and surnames of the authors (not only initials), affiliations (university, department, city, country).
  • The abstract does not exceed 300 words nor contains references, briefly describes the aims, materials, methodology and main results and conclusions of the described research.
  • The number of the keywords does not exceed 6.
  • Drawings, charts, photographs and all descriptions included therein are made as single objects (e.g. there are no descriptions made "on the drawing" in the form of text fields).
  • Descriptions on drawings, diagrams or photographs are in English and have a size of 7-10 pt.
  • Equations are prepared in Microsoft Equation Editor or MathType up to version 7.0.
  • Units of measurement are presented simply and concisely using System International (SI) units.
  • All acknowledgments, including supporting grants, presentations etc., are placed at the very end of the paper before the references.
  • The bibliography is prepared in accordance with the IEEE style.
  • The reference list is given at the end of the article and arranged in order of its appearance in the text; all the references are cited within the text.
  • Citations of references in text are identified using numbers in square brackets, e.g. [1, 4–6].
  • The bibliography is prepared in the Latin alphabet.
  • The information in each reference is complete and accurate.


 

Submitting the manuscripts by the authors is accepted only via the LUT PH e-platform.

 

Cooperation with JTEME 

 

The topic areas of the articles published in the JTEME journal: mechanical engineering, materials engineering, information and communication technology, automation, electronic and electrical
engineering, biomedical engineering.

The journal publishes only the original papers, which have not been published elsewhere and are not under consideration by another journal. The manuscripts submitted by any other person than one of the authors will not be accepted. The submitting author makes a statement that the article’s publication has been approved by all other co-authors.

The JTEME journal does not charge submission or publication fees for the manuscripts. The average waiting time for publication is 3 months. Having received the submission the editorial board sends an official acknowledgment of the submission with the date of reception and corresponds with the author until the article is published (unless otherwise indicated). The condition of paper’s submission is that the authors give permission to check the paper for readability. The editorial board reserves the right to abridge and adjust the articles in a cooperation with the author. In one issue of the journal only one manuscript written by a particular author or a team of authors can be published.

Organisation of the article

The article must fulfil all the conditions included in the checklist above.

The corrected article should be sent back to the editorial office within 7 days of its receipt. The publisher makes every effort to ensure prompt publication. Therefore, it is important that the article is prepared strictly according to the requirements of the journal.

All the submitted works are checked in the anti-plagiarism program Crossref Similiarity Check (iThenticate). The overall similarity (Similarity Index) may not exceed the limit of 30%, and the single paper similarity may not exceed the limit 10%. Otherwise, the paper will be rejected by the editor and no other chance will be given to the author(s) to re-submit it.

Each article is a subject of the single-blind peer review. The works received after a positive assessment of the editorial office are sent to the reviewers, whose identity remains unknown for the author. In a situation where the article receives a negative review, the editorial office  makes the independent decision whether to accept or reject the text. COPE standards

The editorial team, publisher, authors and reviewers are obliged to follow the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing described by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Best Practices in the Reviewing Procedures formulated by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Researcher’s Code of Ethics formulated by the Polish Academy of Sciences (Polska Akademia Nauk – PAN). In case of suspicion of violation of ethical and/or publishing rules, the situation will be clarified in accordance with COPE procedures (COPE flowcharts).

All authors should disclose in their article any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that may affect the results or interpretation of their article.

Open access and copyright

All the articles in the JTEME are open-access. They are also shared on the Creative Commons Attribution Licence (CC BY 4.0 International). This licence consists in properly attributing the work, providing a link to its license and indicating the changes made in it, if there have been any. It can be done in any way, unless it suggests that the licence provider supports the user or the way he or she uses the work.
