Abstract

Urban and rural space is variable over time and dependent on the evolving needs of users. The challenges faced by architects and urban planners today are very different from those that influenced in the past shaping residential centers at all scales. Changes associated with, for example, globalization or social change condition the scope and form of all components in the urban fabric. The impact of the above is spread out over time and is not an abrupt process, and the effect is visible only in relation to the original elements of the spatial landscape. The article raises issues related to architectural design based on the identity of the place and the richness of the cultural landscape. A multifaceted analysis of rural values allows the definition of an identity code at the level of architecture and ruralism providing an important basis for the preparation of a design concept. Overview of the thesis in the context of the preceding study of the value of the composition of the village of Stary Ujazd shows the legitimacy of conducting detailed analysis in the process of creating a new space and architecture that respects the cultural landscape of the area.
