The quarterly journal “Budownictwo i Architektura” has been issued since 2007. Initially (2007-2012) a semi-yearly publication, it became a quarterly in 2013. The articles are published in English (with the possibility to publish in English and Polish parallelly), in an electronic version – posted on the journal’s website. Electronic versions of the journal are archived in repositories (Lublin University of Technology Library, BazTech and PBN/POL-on), while the printed version is archived in the National Library of Poland in Warsaw and the Jagiellonian Library in Cracow. In 2023 the journal was accepted in the Scopus database.
Since 2017, each publication has been assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) number, distributed by DataCite and Crossref organisations.
The journal publishes original scientific works concerning civil engineering and architecture, but also articles focusing on local problems, characteristic for the regions of Middle-Eastern Europe (read more about the journal’s aims and scope in the Journal policies).
“Budownictwo i Architektura” does not charge submission or publication fees for the manuscripts, publishing in the Open Access formula, under the Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC BY 4.0 Int.). Articles published before 2024 are made available under the CC BY-SA licence.
The journal is published and financed by the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the Lublin University of Technology; it has also received a grant from the Polish Ministry of Sciences and Higher Education in “The support for scientific journals” grant programme (2019-2020).
All the submitted scientific articles must be original works that have not been published before and are not being considered by any other journal. When sending a paper to the “Budownictwo i Architektura” editorial office, the author states that there is no conflict of interest with any person or organisation regarding the discussed manuscript. The author must follow the guidelines For authors and the Ethical principles of the journal. “Budownictwo i Architektura” allows the author(s) to hold the copyright without restrictions and to retain publishing rights without restrictions.
The manuscript accepted by the editorial office is reviewed by two independent reviewers who are not affiliated with the author’s university, using the double-blind peer-review process. The reviewers and the members of the Scientific Council of the journal are experts who are responsible for the high scientific level of the articles. “Budownictwo i Architektura” follows the Ethical principles described by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and in the Journal policies. All the submitted manuscripts are verified in the Crossref Similarity Check (powered by iThenticate) to prevent plagiarism and duplicate publications.
