Recyklingowe kruszywo z cegieł (RKC) stanowi znaczący strumień odpadów w rozwiniętych krajach, pochodzący z procesów produkcji i rozbiórki cegieł. Niniejszy artykuł bada potencjalne wykorzystanie różnych rozmiarów RKC jako zamienników naturalnego kruszywa (NK) w podbudowach stabilizowanych cementem (PSC), wraz z oceną ich właściwości mechanicznych i środowiskowych. Badanie obejmuje analizę cyklu życia w celu oceny wpływu środowiskowego różnych receptur PSC. Nowość tego badania polega na środowiskowej ocenie czterech typów PSC, w tym naturalnego, z recyklingu i mieszanego. Właściwości fizyczne i mechaniczne kruszywa z recyklingu cegieł i materiałów naturalnych zostały scharakteryzowane i porównane. Wyniki wskazują, że kruszywo z recyklingu cegieł, w połączeniu z mieszanką cementową, może być używane jako warstwa podstawowa i podbudowa o dobrej wydajności mechanicznej. Ponadto, analizy środowiskowe pokazują, że kruszywo z recyklingu generuje mniejsze wpływy niż kruszywa naturalne. W konsekwencji, to badanie sugeruje, że wykorzystanie kruszywa z recyklingu cegieł w PSC oferuje zrównoważone rozwiązanie zarządzania odpadami, jednocześnie przyczyniając się do redukcji wpływów środowiskowych związanych z działalnością budowlaną.
