Publikowanie artykułów jest możliwe po podpisaniu zgody na przeniesienie licencji na czasopismo.
Najnowsze technologie budowlane umożliwiły wznoszenie bardzo smukłych drapaczy chmur. Zjawisko to rozwija się znacząco w Nowym Jorku, ale bardzo smukłe wieżowce projektowane są również na innych kontynentach. Celem tego artykułu jest scharakteryzowanie istniejących i planowanych smukłych europejskich drapaczy chmur. Badanie obejmowało lokalizację smukłych wieżowców i ich relację z otoczeniem. Poszukiwano różnic i podobieństw w lokalizacji smukłych europejskich drapaczy chmur w tkance miejskiej w porównaniu z amerykańskimi drapaczami chmur. Prezentowane przykłady smukłych drapaczy chmur w Europie ilustrują różnorodność ich lokalizacji, charakter obszarów, na których są projektowane, oraz same budynki. Analiza ich relacji z otoczeniem ujawniła wiele różnic w porównaniu z supersmukłymi wieżowcami Nowego Jorku, takich jak obecność przestrzeni otwartej, lokalizacja w znacznych odległościach od innych budynków, a nawet lokalizacja w krajobrazach zdominowanych przez naturę. Tylko niektóre smukłe europejskie wieżowce są projektowane w gęstej zabudowie, co może przypominać supersmukłe wieżowce Nowego Jorku.
