Abstract

Poland joined the system transformations` period with the definite legislative, institutional and political order. The order has been connected with the wildlife conservation issues, which have been in a specific way shaped in the social consciousness.

The changes in this matter initiated the “Round Table” meeting in 1989, which started the national agreement and the reforms. The reforms have had the crucial meaning for our country. The issues of the wildlife and environment conservation have been one of the discussed topics. The special “Ecological Table” to discuss the above mentioned problems has been formed, which shows the importance of the topic connected with the wildlife and environment conservation.

The shape of the wildlife conservation in Poland has been defined, which provoked the discussion until today. The existing regulations and the successive amendments to the wildlife conservation have been criticized. The initiatives indicating the desire solutions, including the necessity to obey the principles of the balanced development, have been taken.

Can we answer the question concerning the future shape of the wildlife conservation in Poland now, although the discussion about it had been started almost 20 years ago?
