Abstract

A study of contemporary conditions for socio-economic development presented in the present paper allows to formulate the hypothesis that realization of transformation in Poland has an alternative – namely the niche transformation, which was proved and verified on the basis of a rich empirical material. The following are conditions of implementation of the niche transformation: correct definition of the development category; definition of assumptions for the niche transformation, which arise from existing and functioning concepts of development and definition of institutional solutions facilitating the implementation of niche transformation. The following are necessary conditions for the realization of niche transformation: recognition of the fact that there are three capitals and that human capital is superior, admitting non-standardized technologies open to labour intensity, utilization of local savings, utilization of local demand for local enterprise, protection of the deposit of non-relativised values and local identity, shaping of integrated awareness capable of making existential choices and social control, defining local product and creating conditions for local certification, suitably for assessment of social and economic effectiveness as well as drawing up effective legal norms legal responsibility for prepared and adopted documents and decisions taken on their basis, which realize presented transformation models.
