Abstract
This article, in spite of being largely theoretical, is based on the first experience with the use of new technology projects. The article examines the possibility of using appropriate tools and management methods, which aim to better protect the natural environment and people in civil engineering. The use of two technologies: design (BIM) and project management and management of a construction process (Lean Management) should result in creating an effective approach for the protection of the environment and human health, in addition to errors minimisation and costs reduction. The authors suggest in theoretical considerations the possibility of merging BIM and Lean Management into one
system, which should be further extended to the environmental issues (eLBIM), especially in cases of civil engineering structures located in the areas environmentally and socially sensitive.
